Every published workspace serves at <name>.restart.new. You claim the name on your first publish, and you can rename it or connect your own domain later through Manage domain. New sites publish to <name>.restart.new since September 21, 2026. A site published before that date got a <name>.skarmy.ai address; those addresses stay available, and each of those sites also answers at the same name under restart.new.

Naming rules

The UI states this as Use 3–63 lowercase letters, numbers, or hyphens.

Examples

Names beginning xn--, and names with two hyphens in the third and fourth position, are rejected. These encode non-Latin characters that can be made to look like a trusted name.

Reserved names

These are never available. Most protect Restart’s own surfaces, mail routing, or names that could be used to impersonate a trusted service.
app, www, api, admin, dashboard, ns1, ns2, dns, cdn, assets, static, img, images, dev, staging, test, preview, internal, root, status, docs, blog, help, support, billing, account, accounts, auth, login, signup, hub, skarmy, vercel, official, security, abuse, console, portal
mail, email, smtp, imap, ftp, mx, mx1, mx2, autodiscover, autoconfig, webmail, pop, pop3, smtps, imaps, spf, dkim, dmarc, _domainkey
verify, verified, payments, pay, checkout, team, teams, enterprise, partner, partners
Trying one of these gives That name is reserved. Try another.
Reserved names shorter than three characters are rejected as invalid rather than reserved, because they fail the length rule first.

Change your address

Once a site is live, open Home, find your published site in the Company Overview, and select Manage domain (it is also in the ⋯ menu there). The dialog is titled Manage domain and has three parts.

Address

Your Restart address, shown as https://yourname.restart.new. Select Edit address, type a new name, and select Save. The same naming rules apply.
The hint under the field says it plainly: Your old address stops working the moment you save. Links you shared point at it. The old name is retired for good and cannot be claimed again, by you or anyone else.
Until the site has been published once, Edit address is disabled and the dialog says Publish your site once, then you can rename it.

Your own domain

Connect a domain you already own, from any provider. Type it as www.example.com or example.com and select Connect. The dialog then shows a small table of the records to add at your domain provider: one record that points the name at your site, plus a verification record when one is needed. Restart never changes your provider’s settings for you. One domain per workspace: to change it, select Remove and connect the new one. A domain under .restart.new or .skarmy.ai (both are Restart’s) is refused here with That is a Restart address. Change it under Address instead.

Buy a new domain

Buying a domain inside Restart is separate from connecting one you already own, and it may not be switched on for your account. When it is, this section appears with a search field, a price in credits, and a Buy for … credits button; the domain is paid from your credits and renews yearly. If the section is missing, connect a domain bought anywhere else instead.

What stays fixed

Your site address is independent of your company name. Renaming your company does not change a published address.
Deleting a workspace retires its address permanently — the name cannot be claimed again, by you or anyone else.

One address per workspace

Each workspace claims its own name. A company with three workspaces can have three published sites at three addresses.

Verify

  • Your address resolves in a private or incognito window.
  • The Live at … link in the workspace matches the address you claimed.
